XxxMina members get their first HD video for next week’s update (Tuesday the 25th, as a matter of fact) and I do hope you all enjoy.  I’m also utterly tickled by the fact that some of you have run out and bought bigger external hard drives, just to download and store the works of little ‘ol me.

In other news, where the hell have I been the last couple of weeks?  Well, with the purchase of our big-ass new hd camcorders, it became necessary to upgrade our video editing software as well.  I FUCKING hate learning new software, because I’m such a creature of habit.  Nothing I like better than knowing exactly what I’m doing at all times, and whipping my shit off as quickly and painlessly as possible.   But alas, it had to be done.

This all went down right around the same time I took on a custom video order.  It’s not often I bother, but this one had 3 things going for it that made me say “yes”:

• an interesting and easy to do premise (a series of non-nude smoking scenes).
• an attractive price tag (none of your beeswax).
• and NO fucking scripted dialogue!!!

Noooo problem, I thought to myself….  “Whip it all off in 2 days, spend a day editing, a day messing with dvd menus and burning, and I’ll get it right out to him…..”

Well.  The best laid plans often go shitty, as they say.  Another bonus to the project became the guy’s patience — it took me about TWO damn weeks to get it out to him, lol.  Raawr…long story short, much of that time was spent learning the new video software, and THEN learning the DVD-production end of it, which involved much hair-tearing, and not a few wails of “I am NEVER going to learn this shit!”  Lol.

It all worked out well, and I can’t wait to hear what the guy thinks of it…AND to try and reproduce some of his ideas for SmokingMina content.  GREAT stuff — the guy had a nicely creative mind, I was very impressed with how it all came out (and why we hadn’t thought of this before, I do not know) and it literally hurt me not to be able to use it for the site.

So this is why I haven’t blogged much in the last couple of weeks.
